Coach decries poor foreign transfer of female players

Christopher Danjuma, coach of Nasarawa Amazons FC of Lafia, has decried the exploitation of Nigerian female football players by foreign clubs due to poor foreign transfer policy.

Danjuma said in Abuja on Tuesday that there should be a better policy that protects players who leave the country to play for foreign clubs.

“It is about having a policy, right from the federation or club level.

“Whatever player you are taking out should not be for the monetary gain, but first to promote the image of the league and that of the nation.

“Not just coming around to say I have a tournament, pick a player, no, you must come for the best that will promote our image and help our league grow.

“I think a policy concerning that should be handed down.

“Players do go out, and you don’t hear about it, they go there, sometimes they are exploited (other times they do well and you won’t know about it).

“But once the policy is on ground, that whatever player is going out, any agent, club and federation will know, and then I think we will even let the best go out.

“ Nobody will kill them with cheap contract’’
