Rotary set to partner FG on polio eradication

In a bid to eradicate p olio in Nigeria, the newly installed Rotary District Governor, District 9110, Dr. Adewale Ogunbadejo has called on Rotarians nationwide to help bail out the nation from polio endemic.
Speaking at his investiture in Lagos, he said: “My being a District Governor is a great privilege that comes with great responsibilities. Out of 1.2 million Rotarians globally, it is my responsibility to inspire about 2500 Rotarians in my district to puts heads together in kicking polio out finally.
According to him: “Nigerians are wailing of recession, there is need for us to put on our thinking cap. We have to think about how we can achieve things that have never been done before. My charge is to help the communities elevate their lives. In Rotary we strive to help others, in other words, we help ourselves by helping others. We are planning a football tournament to raise funds for polio. “
He further reiteries that: “ It is unfortunate that Nigeria being the giant of africa is listed among polio endermic states , not Sao tome or any other country. With that, we are set to have a musical festival to raise money for polio. We intend to have a vocational centre where our youths and the unemployed can acquire skills irrespective of the recession and I am sure we will achieve it at the end of the day, “ he said.
